Picture of Jon and me in Dongdaemun, Seoul (just another midnight shopping on a Tuesday night)

Jon has asked me to contribute as a writer on this great yet humble site on my own experience of living/working/traveling in South Korea. I can blab on and on about the beauty of Seoraksan Mountain, the fantastic midnight shopping in Dongdaemun, or the historical tour to the Demilitarized Zone. If you want to read redundancy, I suggest the Lonely Planet guide. But you prefer to read about the hidden gems that rarely get mentioned/covered by other media and taste the real flavors of Seoul from a foreigner perspective then you have found the right place. If you know of upcoming events or great places to visit and hang..drop me a line at jennyminsook@gmail.com (BTW, I will admit that I am biased. I have preferences for the art, winebars, dining/food, and electronic music. I hate Korean fashion, Noraebongs (Korean Karoki), soju(chemically processed alcohol), cakes and most Korean hofs which are beerhalls. I also hate mediocrity and a lack of substance, quality, or character. But I also don’t care for pretentiousness, arrogance, and overrated!!)
